Why I chose to attend JMU: I grew up in a small town in the suburbs of Boston and went to school with the same people from kindergarten through high school.  I wanted to branch out and go somewhere where I would not know anybody.  I was also seeking a school that would provide me with the opportunity to experience an environment that was the opposite of where I grew up – a school in the country in the south.  There were a handful of people in my town who previously attended JMU and had nothing but GREAT things to say about it.  It turned out to be the best decision I ever made.

What JMU means to me: Everything.  It is where I received my undergraduate education, met my best friends, and had the best times of my entire life.  Now it is where I work and where I will receive my Masters degree.  It basically consumes my whole life and I would not have it any other way!  It is truly a special place and I feel blessed to be able to share my love for this school with so many others.

Advice to students selecting a college: Go with your heart!  Do not choose a school based on what others may think.  You should get a special feeling when you walk onto the campus that is right for you.
