Education:    I graduated from JMU May 09 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. I just got my Master of Arts in teaching (Physical Education and Health) in May of 2010.

Hometown: Midlothian, VA (Clover Hill High School)

Email: regetzkr@jmu.edu

Hobbies:

  • Helping others; whether it is teaching, leading, or just lending an ear
  • Officiating basketball; a personal goal of mine is to become an ACC/NBA official
  • Anything active, such as: working out, hunting, or fishing
  • Sports; I have not missed a year without playing intramural basketball, softball, and flag football since I came to JMU as a freshman
  • I played Club baseball throughout college and absolutely loved it
  • Playing with my new puppy Peri

Favorite Place On Campus:   JMU has so many great places all for different reasons I love the quad because it is where it all started, it’s beautiful, and great place to hang out or throw a ball.  I love UREC because I love to be active, love competition, and love to stay in shape.  Last, I of course love Bridgeforth Stadium on Saturdays because I love to watch the DUKES kick some butt on the field...and there is nothing like JMU spirit, especially at a Home Game.  Also with stadium renovations, it’s going to be even better.

Off campus:  My Cabin in the mountains.  It’s near a river and stream which make for great swimming and fishing.  Also it is so beautiful in Autumn, much like the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

Favorite Place to eat On/Off campus: My favorite time of the day is lunch. Without a doubt E-Hall is the best place to eat on campus and is the best thing since sliced bread.  However food is good everywhere on campus (3rd in the nation for college food).

Something I want high school seniors/Incoming freshmen to learn: Balance your life and time.  Don't spend too much time on one thing.  Don't be afraid of mistakes.  Throw yourself into as much as possible, enjoy the ride, and learn as much as you can.   Take every day as a learning experience and meet as many people as you can.  Also go to office hours and meet your professors on a personal level; believe it or not they are people too.  Some of the greatest learning experiences in college were out of the classroom with professors on a 1 to 1 basis.
GET INVOLVED AND HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS POSSIBLE...just balance, learn every day, and be willing to change.
