Education: B.A. in English (’12) from JMU
Hometown: Centreville, VA
Why I chose to attend JMU: I went on many college tours my junior year of high school and narrowed down my choices to my top three. I was having a hard time deciding so I went back for a second visit. By the time I stepped on the quad I knew that JMU was the place for me. It was the best decision I have ever made.
What JMU means to me: JMU is a big school with a small school feel. I have been given all of the opportunities of a big school without feeling like another face in the crowd. Students, Faculty, and Alumni truly bleed purple and have a passion for our school. I wouldn’t be where I am today with the experience that I gained and the friends that I made at JMU.
Advice to students selecting a college: Go with your gut! Yes, it is important to do your research and visit schools that are of interest to you. Narrow it down your top choices and by the end of your search you will have a gut feeling about the school that is right for you. Listen to what it is telling you!
Class at JMU: My directing class has to be my favorite class of all time. As a theatre minor I got to cast and direct my own play that was then performed in the Forbes Center. I gained so much valuable experience from this class. Plus it was tons of fun!
Dining Hall: Ehall- There are so many options!
JMU Memory: Serving as a Student Ambassador, being snowed in for a week with all of my best friends, serving as a First Year Orientation Guide, JMU Football games!
Sports Teams: Redskins, FSU, and of course JMU Dukes
Late night food as a student: Daves Taverna!
