Education: B.S. in Psychology
Hometown: Boston, MA
Why I chose to attend JMU: When undergoing the infamous college search, JMU and I had some pretty serious "love at first sight." Coming from Boston, not that many people from my school had attended JMU in the past, but when my guidance counselor told me about it, I was hooked. I pretty much had my eyes set on JMU during the whole college search process. When I went to tour the school, I remember the exact moment on the Quad where I turned to my mom and told her this is where I wanted to be for the next four years.
What JMU means to me: JMU is more than just the place where I received my education, it is a place where I experienced a new environment with like minded individuals. The students that go to JMU have a contagious passion for life and the desire to succeed. I have had so many unforgettable experiences and opportunities at this University. JMU has become my home over these past 4 years and I can't wait to continue my involvement for years to come!
Advice to students selecting a college: Not every college is going to be perfect for you- and that's okay to admit! Don't ever feel like you have to fit a certain mold or specific standards, there is a school out there for everyone! Also, when taking tours, make sure you talk to the students on campus. They are the ones who have been in your position and will have the best information on what it's like being a student!
