Why I chose to attend JMU: People here are just so NICE. Your professor knows your name, and so does the lady who makes your favorite sandwich at lunchtime. People look out for each other and genuinely love their school. That was clear to me from the moment I stepped on our campus. I have never seen a place with so much spirit.
Advice to students selecting a college: Try not to use the word "should." There is no one foolproof way to choose a college. What worked for your older sibling or friend may not work for you. Try to go with your gut, and if you do, chances are it will be the four best years of your life so far!
Favorites About JMU:
- Place: The Quad on the first beautiful day in the spring—there are so many students hanging out that you can barely see a blade of grass! The energy can't be beat.
- Dining Facility: All of them. But if I had to pick one...no, all of them.
- Memory: When I was a freshman we won a huge football game against a big rival team. We were losing at halftime so a lot of people were clearing out of the stadium—but my friends and I stayed. Our team pulled through and won, and everyone left in the stands rushed the field.
