The minor is a part of the School of Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication, a program within the College of Arts and Letters.

The WRTC minor complements all majors and is designed for students who wish to extend, enrich, and formalize their training as writers and communicators. WRTC minors can focus their coursework on personal and civic writing, social media and content strategy, user experience (UX), online theory and inclusive design, publication management, editing, technical writing, scientific and medical communication, legal and government writing, and more.

The requirement for a minor in WRTC is 18 credit hours.
