Dr. Teresa A. Gonzalez serves as Vice Provost for Academic
Programs and Professor of Graduate Psychology. She has been a
member of the JMU community with appointments in the academic
and student affairs divisions since 1975. Primary responsibilities
include oversight of curriculum development/approval, academic
policy, academic review process as well as being liaison from the
Provost to major university and state higher education groups.
Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the SCHEV State Committee on
Transfer, the Virginia Network Executive Board and is an appointed
member of the Governor's Latino Advisory Board. She was a founding member and holds emerita status with National Network Executive Board/ACE. She is past editor of the Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators journal and has published in the areas of supervision, female athletes and sexual assault.
Dr. Gonzalez holds a Ph.D. (Counseling), M.Ed. (Counseling/Student Personnel) from Ohio University and B.A. (Communication Arts/Theatre) from Molloy College.
