Break Description

Established in 1850 as an orphanage for abandoned children, York Place has grown and developed to become a full Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for 36 children ages 6-14. Equipped with 120 acres of outdoor and indoor recreational facilities and the work of paid staff and volunteers, York Place is able to provide a variety of services for adolescents experiencing significant emotional and behavioral disorders. Providing Residential Treatment Services, Community Counseling Services, and a Family Care Center, York Place is working to ensure a child's past struggles do not further inhibit the potential of their future.

In support of York Place's mission, we will be working around the campus painting bedrooms for the children, helping during homework time, teaching and playing sports, as well as attending class and chapel with the kids. We hope to build relationships with these children and have the opportunity to support them and their families through this treatment and recovery period of their lives.
