Focus on: Community Wellness

Description:

Join us as we travel South to the vibrant community of Project Lazarus, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. We will be assisting in managing facilities and spending time with the residents; This can include working in the kitchen, gardening, bingo nights, and hopefully a ton of fun and hands-on learning! We hope to build meaningful relationships with the residents who battle the hardships of HIV/AIDS and spend evenings reflecting on this complex and multi-faceted issue.

During our week we will embrace the lifestyle of simple living, challenging one another to learn, grow, serve, and gain a better understanding of this community. Together we will commit to strong, direct service and build community with the residents as well as within our group. Our actions will not only impact this local community, but will also contribute to a large scale national movement towards active citizenship within the Alternative Break Program.
