Focus on: Human-Trafficking

Description:

Join us as we head south for 5 days of service with Medici Project; an organization which addresses the complex and growing issue of Human Trafficking and HIV/AIDS in the U.S. from a global perspective. This break focuses heavily on educating participants about the issue and the efforts small and large being made to combat Human Trafficking. Potential projects might include assisting in grassroots outreach efforts and engaging in hands-on community projects like working in shelters and food banks.

During our week we will embrace the lifestyle of simple living, challenging one another to learn, grow, serve, and gain a better understanding of this community. Together we will commit to strong, direct service and build community with The Medici Project as well as within our group. Our actions will not only impact this local community, but will also contribute to a large scale national movement towards active citizenship within the Alternative Break Program.
