Football kicks off its final key stretch of four conference games against No. 17 William and Mary as part of JMU Homecoming festivities to highlight the weekend in JMU sports.
Alumni and their families of all ages enjoy a fall visit "home" to Harrisonburg for homecoming festivities every year. The day creates memories both on and off the field and provides a chance for many to reconnect with a place that shaped their lives and people who impacted them in many ways. Madison Hosts Homecoming Tilt Versus William & Mary: As part of the 2014 football season presented by CarMax, James Madison returns for the annual Homecoming contest, this season hosting CAA and in-state rival William & Mary at Bridgeforth Stadium today.
James Madison hosts Philadelphia University in an exhibition on Sunday at 2 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. This game will not count towards either team's NCAA record for the 2014-15 season. Admission is free for this game. Fans can purchase season tickets for all 19 regular-season home games HERE while single game tickets are on sale, effective Nov. 1.
With field hockey celebrating the 20th anniversary of the program's 1994 national championship, we catch up with several members of the squad to learn more about where they are now, how JMU and JMU Athletics has shaped their lives and what special memories they carry with them from that magical season. This week, we focus on Jennifer Wilds Powell, who scored 23 goals and added 11 assists in three seaons with the Dukes. The entire 1994 field hockey squad will be the first team to be inducted into the JMU Hall of Fame on Champions Weekend, Nov. 21, 2014.
