Development of a High Stability, Precise, High Voltage Power System: a Critical Component for the Muon g-2 Experiment at Fermi National Laboratory

This collaborative research project will combine the resources and expertise of two nuclear and particle physics groups. This project will design, prototype and test a high voltage system that will be used to power detectors for the Muon g-2 experiment. This experiment will be performed at Fermi National Laboratory in Batavia, IL. The Muon g-2 experiment will measure the magnetic moment of the muon to a very high precision. This experiment can then be characterized as a critical test of the fundamental theory of matter and energy.
